Matese 35+ years ago quite frankly vet med was not too evolved and of course it was what only 20 yrs ago most of us started to have the internet and google. So how was a pet owner to know?
Vets back then and even now - do not do a full information of risks n benefits before consent for many if not all procedures. And yes they might have standard sign off forms but they should not take the place of informed consent for your particular animal.
