Virginia requires 2 core vaccines which are: Rabies & Distemper (Lyme isn't required but is "highly recommended)
Both Magnus & Zoey are adults but I still wait about 2-3 weeks before the 2nd shot when required. Only Distemper is required annually since they're not puppies anymore. And Rabies is every 3 years.
I don't know how big/small the pup is but considering this will be the first vaccination while in your friend's care, I'd say wait 3 weeks just to be safe. |
