Within a couple of weeks of bringing Piper home, something "got" her when I let her outside before going to work (@10:30pm). She jumped, licked, bit, and limped inside--not putting back leg down at all. To make matters worse, she started trembling. I couldn't see anything at all on her foot or leg. I was a wreck, kept watching her and every so often offered bite of chicken...Pretty soon the shaking subsided, she perked-up and when she accepted chicken, I knew we'd both be ok! Because of the hour I never found anything in backyard and think maybe she was bit by an ant or something...I think because she was still getting used to everything, she took the hurt pretty personally. It's always scary when anything untoward happens to our babies, but keeping a close watch as you're doing is excellent--and the fact that Joni wants to play is also excellent. I'm sure others will be able to offer you concrete advice and suggestions...I'm only able to offer a bit of reassurance that a similar experience quickly returned to 'normal' in Piper's case.
