As Nancy wrote, tipping (shaving) the top of the ears is standard Yorkie grooming. If you prefer longer hair, there is no one answer that fits all Yorkies. Some will have ears that stand up even with the weight of very long hair. Others will have ears that fall under the weight of the hair.
