Hello 107 Barney, I am so happy for you that your baby has lived to 15. I have not posted before all though I have been reading and learning so much from all of you. I am writing you because we have a 12 year old yorkie girl. We saved her from a puppy mill six years ago. She was 6 years old when we got her. I have never had a dog long enough in my life for them to grow old and die. This will be the first time. My husband and I are trying to learn how the ageing process works so we can give her every thing she needs. She has never played. She has no teeth. She enjoys eating more than any thing. Sleep next then walks. We try to take her with us when we go shopping in our car if we can. She seems very healthy. She does have bad knees and she is very nervous most of the time she is awake. She has her own bed does not want to sleep with us. Only enjoys being held if she is scared. We have not taken a vacation since we got her six years a go. I have read that other people also stay home for lack of some one to watch their babies. My husband is not happy at all about leaving her with any one and I agree. My question to you is does Barney still see good and hear good at 15? He looked great in the picture. Any other advice for us to help her age well would be wonderful. I do not work any more so I am with her always. Thank you for listening. God Bless. Poochy7 |
