Toby turns into Cujo on steroids. Vicious little bastard as soon as soon as his face or feet threaten to be compromised by me or anyone else. It's serious. The struggle is real, folks... But I am s.l.o.w.l.y making progress. Treats. Little teeny tiny soft treats help. get a big handful and feed him one after another But make him have to work it out with his teeth a bit so he has to concentrate on that instead of the dreaded clippers/scissors. Also, see if you can find a groomer that does housecalls. when sh'e curled up with you make it a point to play with metal scissors around her so she gets used to the sound they make. Don't actually cut her hair at all though. Just desensitize her to the sound. Once she isnt eyeing you like a hawk any longer, touch her paws here and there with the side of them just to desensitize her to that , too. also do the same with a pair of toenail clippers til the sound ceases to alarm her. also if shes really bad, give her something to make her drowsy or sedated ( vet approved of course) beforehand to ease the anxiety. Eventually it will just become routine to her. Toby is starting to make progress finally. the fight time has been cut in half and my injuries have become far less serious than they were before. And don't ever take her to a groomer that has control of her outside of your supervision. Who knows what method they might use to try and subdue her if she's being uncooperative or fear aggressive. Be firm but most of all be patient... Hope that helps a little
