Hello from Central Texas! Long-time Yorkie owner, first time poster.

My family recently adopted what we were told was likely a parti Yorkie from a rescue organization out of Houston. Emmie Lou is adorable, well-trained and full of personality. Likely 1-1/2 to 2 years old.

No one can figure out why she was abandoned on the side of the road covered with fleas. The rescue group and foster parent did a fantastic job of caring for her. And they were lovely people to work with throughout the whole process.

Emmie (for short) has fit right in with the family. My previous dog was a lovely companion named Coco. She lived past 12 and passed away five years ago. I am personally thrilled to have a Yorkie again.


*Feel free to correct me on the parti-color designation. I honestly had never heard the term and had to Google it. It's been interesting to see all of the changes that have come about in the last 5+ years -- new (to me) Yorkie colors, grain-free dog foods, new flea treatments, YouTube training videos, etc. etc.
