No the modern Yokies arent breed to hunt. They were sized down from the 10+ lbs dogs. Most arent sturdy. My 6.6lbs Moki is pretty solid and muscular. He can do alot of stuff. But I dont let him jump off of stuff. Why they are know to have bad knees. Its a trait.My dog knees are rated 0..I like to keep it that way. My Whimsy is 4lbs she can run up and down the stairs easily jump up stuff but I dont let her jump down. Both are trained not to. Winnie is under 4lbs she can run faster then the other two jump higher. But she wont walk down the stairs dunno why but thats here choice. Yorkies are one of the most sickly and over breed dogs and can have alot of problems. One of the biggest population in the puppy mills. So yes you do need to research the breed. And if yours are hardy then you are lucky. Mine are but I dont let them run in the park..Why another dog can easily kill them.
