We bathe in a sink and adding a rubber mat (the ones for dishes found in the kitchen section of stores) made a big difference.

Bkuck, Max was like your pup at first with baths. Usually gets easier as they mature. Be confident and talk to her about what you are doing. My boys love hearing, "here comes the conditioner" because they know that means it is almost over.

Praise for good behavior.

For the groomer, your baby may surprise you and behave perfectly. Sometimes dogs are more compliant around people other than their humans. For instance, Max will not let me trim his nails, but he will let the vet techs draw his blood with no problem. Some of it is confidence that that the pros approach the dogs with, whereas us pet parents tend to worry, hesitate, get flustered.
