If you have AKC papers saying she is a yorkie, then she is most likely a yorkie. AKC papers are hard to falsify, although not impossible. But the other registries (ACA, APRI, CKC [Continental, not Canadian]) are very easy to falsify papers so those registries are not reputable.
Yorkie and silky are very similar to the lay person. Mine are 5 and 6 lbs and I hear all the time, Oh look at the silkies! And silkies aren't as popular as yorkies so I don't really get that one. Mine are lighter in color than standard, but as far as I know, the silky color standard is pretty similar to a yorkie's.
