How old is your Yorkie? Sometimes the tinier the dog, the more care and attention is needed for the rear end. If your dog is young and small, be sure to check him daily or after each poop to make sure things are clean and clear back there. A warm bath and wash cloth help.
Anal glands can also cause pain for dogs of any size or age. Sometimes the glands just need to be emptied. The glands can also become infected and burst. Medical attention is definitely needed then for the glands to be emptied and an antibiotic prescribed.
If you need assistance paying vet bills, look into Care Credit. Only takes a minute over the phone to be approved.
