I don't know how to help you with the running because these terriers like to terrorize. However, a trick I learned after Barney escaped was to teach him to love a whistle. I bought a ref whistle at WalMart and I have trained all 3 of mine that when I blow it, I give cheese. So, in my fenced in back yard, I practice this whistle/cheese thing so that they know they are going to get treated if they run to the whistle. I keep the whistle on a desk by my front door. This way if the booger escapes again, I have a way to get him back quickly.
