Could be something innocent like teething causing the drainage, or seasonal allergies, or the awkward hair growth stage when it is difficult to keep hair out of the eyes.

If the drainage is yellow, green, or thick white, I would have a vet take a look at the eye. If the drainage is clear, but dripping like steady tears, that would also be cause to have the vet take a look to rule out irritation and other problems.

Any redness in the white of the eye or the eyelid, any puffiness, definitely see a vet . If your pup is scratching at the eye, that could also be a sign something is wrong.

I use a wet cotton ball to clean the corners of my boys' eyes daily. Then I use a flea comb with closely spaced teeth to comb the hair in the area clean and out of the way.
