Default HELP! Rescue Yorkie Aggression

I am in desperate need of help. On July 3rd, I saw a post on facebook for a "found" yorkie. My heart was immediately pricked......I began posting on facebook trying to find her owner. The couple that found her called animal control and they took her to Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter. Metro is a kill shelter.....my heart broke....I began calling Metro about her.....there was a 7 day stray hold on all animals brought in. I called a friend of mine that is involved in a local rescue group and she contacted the person in charge. Metro posted videos of Mia, showing extreme aggression. They told the rescue leader that Mia was unadoptable and would not be able to be pulled by a rescue with that behavior. Things were not looking good. I continued to post on facebook and call Metro.....I told them that if they could just get her out of that loud kennel that her personality would probably change. The rescue leader went down to Metro and sat outside of Mia's kennel....she never quit growling or showing her teeth for 20 minutes. The videos that Metro was posting showed her doing the same thing and even lunging at people. I was convinced she was petrified....after several days, they put a towel over her as she was growling, showing teeth and lunging....but once they got her out of the kennel she calmed down. They allowed the rescue to pull her and I am fostering/adopting her. Herein lies my problem....I have two grandchildren, a 4 year old and a 2 year old and another one on the way. I keep the 2 year old 4 days and week, pick my 4 year old up 2 afternoons a week and will keep my new grandbaby when it is born...Mia has not shown any aggression toward them......however, she has bitten my husband probably 5 times with 3 of those drawing blood. It seems to be whenever you do something she doesn't like or sudden movement. She is also territorial over things that she considers "hers." Today my daughter-in-law came to our house, Mia rolled over for her to rub her belly. My daughter-in-law reached down in a normal movement and Mia bit her......my concern is my grandchildren......I also need to say that when Mia came to my house we learned that she can sit, stay, lie down, roll over, is completely pee pee pad trained, accustomed to a leash and being groomed (a friend of mine owns a grooming business and she groomed her). While she was at Metro, a couple came in and "claimed her." They said they had purchased her from a breeder 10 days prior and that she had escaped their house.....they were taken back to see her and when they got back there, Mia showed no recognition...she growled, showed teeth and lunged.....they decided to surrender her. Their story doesn't seem right to me...they had pictures of her that they had taken.....but if you purchased a dog and this situation happened, I would think you would try to get your money back. I also asked Metro to call them and see if they could give the name of the breeder.....Metro told me they didn't know their name.....it just doesn't add up...my fear is that someone is grieving themselves to death and I think she is missing someone too. I have searched and searched the internet, the area she was found and I have had no luck. We have felt that Mia could remain with us forever, if her behavior was okay.....I also have a 4 lb. yorkie and a 5 lb. shih Tzu......Mia doesn't pay any attention to them. Most of the time she's a lap dog.....even with my husband (who has a heart for her). I have never experienced anything like this and I don't know what to do.....I don't want to give up on her but I don't want my grandbabies bitten either.....and I don't want to always not trust her around them. She seems to LOVE my grandbabies......but I'm afraid she may turn on them.....I don't know if she's just unhappy with us (I don't see how....she's spoiled).....or if she is traumatized. I have an Animal Trainer coming to our house on Sunday afternoon to see if she can help....I need any help anyone can give me or advice on this situation....Is there hope we can get her out of this?
