Default Training to be confined in crate

Hey guys!

I'm trying to ramp up toilet training with my lovely 14 week old Bonnie, but it's proving difficult as I've not yet trained her to be confined in her crate. She sleeps and chills out in her crate, but how can I get her to the point where she is comfortable being confined in there?

I've started to put her in there and give her treats with the door closed, increasing the length of time every couple of days. I've tried moving away from her for short periods, but as soon as I go out of sight she cries and cries I've always waited until she stops barking before letting her out. Do I just need to keep doing this? How long do I let her cry for each time? I'm really scared about making her hate her crate, and listening to her cry is so hard! Help!
