I wasn't suggesting that food would change the dna but food, vitamins and minerals does change the texture and growth of hair and nails....at least it does in humans.
We had a cocker spaniel that had a litter of pups and some were born with a cleft lip. Apparently the stud used had thrown these type of pups before...some genes skip many generations. My female was pregnant when I got her so I told the previous owner who contacted the owner of the stud and she said she would have him fixed.
