The quarter (2.5mg) of a 10 mg tablet sounds good for a regular dose. Feeding a whole 10 mg sounds a lot last night in my opinion ( except for a very large Yorkie!) and although it may not have been dangerous, it would probably take his appetite away for a day or more! That is probably why he was not that hungry this morning?
Perhaps you could wrap the 1/4 tablet in some treat before you add it to his food, so he does not smell the Pepcid. I get my Pepcid made up by a Vet compounding pharmacy. It is chewy and tastes of chicken. It is easy to split and my dog likes the taste! It is of course more expensive!
