Be responsible for your pup and take precautions as needed, that's all you really can do. I haven't neutered/spayed my pets, 2 of which will be shown. I'm not ignorant/irresponsible nor do I allow my pets around nonspayed/neutered animals of the same or opposite sex when in season.
