I would be running from a vet that said to withhold water and NOT provide an alternative! This baby needs at least sub-Q fluids....injecting IV fluid under the skin several times a day to keep the baby hydrated....this is necessary to keep her alive! SMALL frequent amounts of water are vital to keep her alive! Do you have Pedialyte where you are....that is great to give sick pups to help keep electrolytes in balance....just give 10cc about every 2 hours in her mouth to help with hydration....along with the sub-q fluid, she will be ok hydration wise. You can check her hydration by looking at her gums/tongue...they should be moist....if her mouth is dry, she is not getting enough fluids! Check the skin on the nape of her neck....if you can pull it up and it stays pulled up and does not return back down immediately, she is dry and needs water!

If this were ME, I would keep her nothing by mouth for 24 hours, except the water to keep her hydrated, then I would start slowly feeding her BABY FOOD....let her lick about 1 heaping tablespoon every couple of hours....dont over do it or she will start to vomit again....after 24 hours with her tolerating that amount, increase the amount to 2 heaping tablespoons every couple of hours....I would continue to do this for a week or so...keep with the hydration and keep going slowly increasing the baby food....I would also start building up her bacteria in her gut again...severe cases of diarrhea cause a "slick gut" which means all the bacteria in the bowl has been washed out and you need bacteria in the gut to breakdown/absorb nutrients from the intestine. Yogurt with live cultures....NOT diet yogurt!!.....is great for this....start slowly letting her lick some from your finger couple of times a day....Kefir is FANTASTIC additive to her diet at this time! If you can get that where you are, Kefir is LOADED with good live cultures for her gut.....small amounts, every couple of hours during the day is better than letting her eat until she makes herself sick and she vomits....go slowly, a little licked off your finger if you are doing yogurt or you can mix a tablespoon of the Kefir into the baby food chicken.....this will get you started and carry you thru a couple of weeks.
