I was trying to find my information on Milk Thistle and why it should be glycerine based, NOT alcohol based....I have been thru 3 computers since I first collected that information...I did find these notations....
" The herb also comes in a liquid extract, but most human products contain a fair bit of alcohol. If you prefer a liquid preparation, get one specifically intended for use in animals. While some Milk Thistle sold in health stores is/can be alcohol-based and should not be given to dogs, Pet Wellbeing's Milk Thistle is glycerin-based and safe for dogs. Milk Thistle must be glycerin-based to be safe for dogs. Do not give your dog any supplements that contain alcohol"
I found these above notations saved on my computer....My vet told me years ago do NOT give the formula from human health food stores because of the alcohol carrier....so I have used the formula specifically designed for dogs from PetWellbeing for many, many years. |
