It feels like just yesterday when I took my first yorkie home. That was 15 years ago. For all the joy he's given me, I owe him the very best as he faces his medical challenges and his old age. Thes last five months have been a turning point for him...and as I see him getting older, not hearing as well, and having a tougher time, I think about when the end will be upon us. When I find myself thinking like that, I push the thoughts out of my mind and enjoy my time with him. I have another that is also 15, but seems stronger.

My best advice to anyone with a young dog is to keep up with prevention early. I think this is what's helped my dogs to live long full lives.
