For the right dog / situation, 10 may not be excessive at all. It seems a little young to have that many bad teeth at this age, but it's not unheard of especially in a very crowded mouth. It would be pretty rare for a vet to recommend removing HEALTHY teeth, unless the vet is totally unethical, ya know?

Whatever you do, do it quickly as your little one may be in teeth pain, which can be excruciating and cause heart issues and appetite issues.
