I have to ask this question. Is it common for people to give up their dogs after they no longer "show" well?
DITTO.........just a matter of time I would think. New freedom might be a bit scary at first.

If they loose their looks or are to old to breed any longer I can't see the breeder/show ppl keeping them in kennels the rest of their lives. I think it's kinda selfish but if they get an excellent home that lets them be a dog that's a good thing!
