Question Casey seemed depressed

We adopted a 4 year old retired show dog who is very sweet. We are concerned that he is depressed because of the separation from the only home he has known. His owners were professional breeders and showed their pups. What we know is he has a great personality and enjoys other dogs and people. We have had him for two days now and he sleeps a lot and is not affectionate. He lets us hold him in our laps and seems to enjoy his walks. He wasn't walked much in the general outdoors due to concerns with grooming. Will he come around? He just seems subdued and depressed. We are worried and want to make his transition as smooth as possible. He is our only dog. we think it's too soon to introduce another dog. What does the Yorkie community think? I would really appreciate your feedback! Thanks very much!
