My sister is a groomer. She was a vet tech for many years before she was able to be a full time groomer. She does that and she really does know what she is doing.

I would feel comfortable with a groomer that does that because I have known groomers that did it and because they do this every day they know what they are doing with it.

Just my opinion. I would not use a pet store groomer though myself, but if I did I would probably not have them do it as I am not sure how well they are trained, but a regular groomer I would probably let them. I let the pet store grind Teek's nails and that is all I use them for. I groom him myself and so far am doing a decent job at it.
