Cody is adopted, he was neutered as a puppy so no marking, when he pees he takes a kinda stance and pees,no leg lifting, but, what I have found out over the 20 months that I have him is, if he is near a fence, wall, tree, fire hydrant, anywhere a dog has previously peed up on, he will hike his leg to pee pee, soooo, I keep him away from these things. Neutering is for health, not necessarily to prevent marking. My brother had his 7 y/o Shih Tze neutered with no issues. Congratulations on your new fur baby.
