LOL... I'm sorry but that made me laugh out loud- it's so cute!
I just got a 4 month old teacup yorkie 2 weeks ago and we are also working on potty training. I hate to say it, but what's working best is to take him out every 1-2 hours and after EVERY nap. Luckily, he only poops outside (yes!) but he almost "leaks" a little pee when he's excited or really has to go.
I've been making a fuss over him for going outside and giving him a stern "NO!" when he pees inside. Having said that, it's hard to discipline him because he makes a super-sad face!!
He's not really into the pad... I've only seen him use it twice.
