It *may* help, but to be totally honest Benadryl does not have a great reputation in working good for allergies in dogs. It has a very short half-life, so you must give it every 4-6 hours to be effective. Vet Derms prefer using either Zyrtec or Claritin bc both are 24hr meds.

We don't normally give out dosage info, but for Benadryl we always do -- this is bc it can literally safe a dog's life in the case of a sting or allergic reaction...so you should always have Benadryl in your doggie emergency kit. The dose is 1-2mg per pound, so you'd give 5-10mg.
