I have a yorkie female who's too young to go into heat, but I have had the same thing you're describing happen with my larger breed. My husband has a bulldog female who usually goes into heat like clockwork every 6 months. She's had 4 that went as scheduled. Her past (5th) heat which started and ended in May was actually due in January.
Everything checked out fine with our vet, but I had to be extra careful and check her daily just in case. Her past heat was fine and lasted the normal 21 days. Just like in human females cycles changing so it can in our canine counterparts. Have there been any changes in her routine/environment lately? |
