Default Moving advice

Hi YT!

Long time lurker of forum needing some advice. I'm daddy to a female Yorkie that's almost 2. Her name is Malani.

We (wife, Malani and I) are moving from NY to Austin TX next month. Any advice on making a smooth transition to new home for Malani? Traveling part I'm not concerned about, as we will be driving over a few days. She has done 14hr road trips and 2 roundtrip flights so far this year and handled them like a champ. I'm just concerned about her transition to our new home.

We will likely be in temporary housing (hotel) for the 1st couple weeks while finalizing housing and movers arrive with our stuff. Over the last 12 months she has stayed in 3 different hotels, totaling 12 nights, without much issue, other than some barking.

Potty and eating schedules shift a bit but hasn't been a big issue and settle out in a couple days after arriving at destination. She has not had any issues with diarrhea like some stories I've read on here.

She's potty trained very well for outside. She use to be pad trained but as soon as she did her first outside event, she wants nothing to do with the pad.

She sleeps with us in bed. She stays in a play pen (3'x3') during the day when the wife is at work and I'm sleeping (I work nights) and does well with this. Once in Austin, wife will be working from home.

Based on the above, any recommendation or advice on making this transition smooth as possible for Malani? Any past experiences you can share? Any Austin-ites with info please share!

Thanks!
