Confused vomiting stopped

Early this morning before 6am my dh brought Buddybear to me saying he was sick. He had vomited about 6 times in his 'room'. After I cleaned it up he drank a lot of water then vomited that up. I tried to give him small bites of toast but he didn't want any. He just layed around while I tried to do some research on his symptoms. I took him to the park where he gobbled up grass and had a regular bowl movement.
He's hardly drunk any water but I have gotten several small amounts of clear pedalight in through a syringe. Now he is just walking with his tail down and ears about half mast. A few times today he has perked up to bark at a intruder or the neighbors dog.
What baffles me is he was perfectly fine when he went to bed.
After two different times of eating grass he hasn't vomited but is not acting normal. Online they say if he isn't improved in 24 hours to go to a vet.
This is almost the 4th of July.....what a time to get sick. I'm sure he didn't plan this. I was thinking how lucky we were he's been so healthy.
Buddybear is 11 months old and weighs 7# 4 oz.
Input welcome!
