Jackson is deathly terrified. Depends on how close they are though. When they are far enough in the distance, they don't seem to bother him. I can tell he hears them but he doesn't act *scared*. But anything sounding like a gun shot, firework, or thunder that is a loud BANG and up pretty close.... he will go to a corner, or under a bed, etc. He often shakes but it depends on the loudness honestly. Sometimes he just goes under the bed, sometimes he shakes real bad, sometimes he pants/paces.

The vet prescribed him alprazolam (xanax) for another issue and I've found they don't do anything. He did horrible on an RV trip to Florida which was bouncy and loud on bumpy roads which is what made us get the RX. Didn't seem to help, like at all. I've heard xanax is hit or miss w/ dogs. So vet said she was gong to give me trazadone (I think) as she sees more success with it.

But you could try something like Rescue Remedy first (didn't do anything for Jackson lol).
