Default Macy

Hi guys.

My Macy Girl was diagnosed with collapsed trachea several years ago. She has been doing great, but last year in June 2014, she got very sick. She had breathing difficulties and couldn't sleep. We ended up taking her to vet and it turned out that she had fluid around her lungs. She was given lasix and cough medicine. The cough medicine was amazing as she coughed up a bunch of phlegm. After that, she was back to her old self.

Last week, she got sick again. She showed the same behavior as last year. Ended up taking her to vet. It turned out she had fluid around her heart. However, we had a different vet this time. She gave Macy lasix, enalapril, and vetedmin as well as her butorphanol that she has always taken since she was diagnosed with collapsed trachea.

She was doing MUCH better. Ate again, back to her old self, but her vet wanted us to take Macy to heart vet just to make sure. It was found that she has pulmonary hypertension and is given medicine for it. She is now off lasix and enalapril per dr's order. She was off both medicine for two whole days with still taking butorphanol. She didn't start medicine for pulmonary hypertension til two days later because it had to be ordered. The whole two days she was fine... like nothing happened.

When we gave her medicine for pulmonary hypertension, she started to act up again.

What do you think this may be?
