getting him to stay with Grandma Dinky is our darling, or we are his darlings.
He, like most dogs, hates being away from us. He does seem to like staying home some mornings when he wants to sleep in and we have errands. He heads to his crate when he sees us preparing to leave most mornings.
On the other hand, if either of us is home alone with him, he spends most of the time pining, watching, not eating, not sleeping.
We moved back to MI recently, and now we need to go back to NC and pack up the house there. It should take about 2 weeks.
He loves my MIL. Mostly. Still, she brought up that she would watch him, but she is afraid he would not eat and just be too miserable if she took him.
It would be soooo much easier to do this move if he were not traveling with us.
I guess we need to leave him with her for a couple of hours at a time until he gets used to it.
Any suggestions? |
