Aww I'm sorry you're dealing with this. My Jackson is a fine traveler in the car (he will sometimes take 5-10 mins to 'calm down' and pants sometimes, but then chills out) but he panicked in the RV trip from MD to FL this year. It was a horrible horrible drive. He paced, panted, wouldn't settle, pretty much the entire trip. He was fine in the RV when it wasn't moving. I think because it was louder because it was usually the bumps that got him. I made sure everything in the cabinets was placed properly, etc, as to make less noises while traveling and bouncing around.

I tried going in the back room with him, closing the door and windows and laying on the bed with him. Didn't work for long. Leashed him up and sat on the couch with him. Didn't do much. Sitting in the front seat in his booster seat. Nope. So I gave in and called the vet and they called in a prescriotion of alprazolam (xanax). Also ordered Rescue Remedy, both of which did nothing. When I got back my vet spoke to me about a better medication that she's seen MUCH more success in called trazadone. So we'll be getting that next time we go somewhere long distance. lol
