You may not see her full personality until you have had her several months. I took in a 9 year old Yorkie in January of this year. He was sweet and quiet and just wanted to lay on the couch with me. He could not walk around the block as he couldn't make it to the end of our block (we live on one end and tried to walk to the other) and back again.

It took many weeks before his full personality came out. It was the kind of thing where I loved him when I brought him home, but every week, sometimes every day, I loved him even more as I started to see who he really was. I had him about 5 weeks before he would play with me. At 9, he likes to play with me most evenings.

We got 2 puppies though and at first he headed straight for the top of the couch to avoid them. Now, he gets down and plays with them.

Just give her time to adjust and she will loosen up. Moving to a new family, new house, new playmates is a scary for a dog that age. I just showered my guy with love and attention and he blossomed.
