Yes, sometimes people do take out their frustrations with the spouse/significant other out in many ways. Although this isn't a marriage forum, may I suggest some type of counseling to get to the root of whatever problem(s) you may be experiencing? People say things out of anger and frustration that they really don't mean, they just want to hit people where it hurts. Your husband knows you love your dog and knows that's where to "hit" you.
