Yorkie's Temperament? Hi, I have a question about Yorkie's temperament. My Alfie is a live wee wire and we have had him since a pup so that's what we are used to. Little Penny who is a rescue and we only have her a week is totally the opposite. She doesn't seem to know how to play, only barks when she needs back into the house after going to the toilet, she doesn't stay out in the garden to play unless we are out there and she is just a bit more docile (except for the snarling and snapping at Alfie). Is this normal in Yorkies too?
She's 8 or 9 years old but Alfie is 8 too and the only background details we have is that she lived with an older woman since she was about 6 months old but she wasn't sure of her actual birthday. The woman have her up because she has grandchildren that she is starting to look after and I am assuming that Penny is not good around children.
We also had her on the beach the other day and we bumped into friends with their dogs and she snapped and snarled at them so I had to lift her so she also is not socialable with dogs and probably the reason she doesn't get on with Alfie.
I have seen her be playful once with Alfie but hubby says that they are both very good when he is around and I am not there. I know we just need to be patience with her which we will as we just love her. But just wanted to know if not all Yorkies are energetic. |
