I am so glad you took her in!

6 months ago I took in a 9 year old male Yorkie. He is the best!

It took him about 6 weeks of being with me before he would play with a toy, now we have our own game we play with each other. It will take time for her full personality to emerge so be patient and expect her to change over time with you.

Don't give up on her playing even if she won't at first. I just kept trying to get my Yorkie to play and then one evening he did and although he is older and doesn't play all the time, when he is in the mood we play.

I got 2 Yorkie puppies a month ago. They are like potato chips and once you get one, you want more. LOL

Good luck and feel free to post any other questions you have. I would try to get them off people food for sure, unless you plan to cook all her meals for her. Getting them balanced can be a trick though. I would probably try sprinkling parmesan on dog food and see if she will eat it, or mix some plain yogurt (just a teaspoon or less) into her food and see if she will eat it.

Good luck and I can't wait to see updates!
