Default Skipping meals

6 month old male will not eat some meals. He's a grazer and takes forever. I've done the ten minute rule and the next meal is the same way, no interest and then all of a sudden he will gobble a meal up in seconds. I can not free feed as I have a diabetic Aussie Terrier and can't take a chance on him sneaking Buster's food. I feed him by the Science Diet puppy formula instructions for his weight. I know he's in that adolescent gangly stage but he is quite skinny. Vet says he's fine but I'm the Mom and Mom's know best.

Question,
Do Yorkies always get fed 2x a day?
Do I need to fill in with Nutracal at six months if he skips a meal?
Will this struggle end?

Thanks for any answers and tips in advance.
