You've gotten a lot of good advice on this thread, and I hope you aren't offended by it. Many of us were like you when we came to Yorkietalk, we saw nothing wrong with breeding our pets, but if you stay around you'll be educated in a big way. It's horrible seeing people have to give up a pet because of an inherited disease and they can't afford to fix the luxating patella's, and other problems. Most inexperienced breeders don't know about health testing and don't really know the line, you should know around 5 lines back, on both sides of each dog in order to breed right. We have an overabundance of Yorkies and the only reason to breed as lovetodream says, "is to improve the breed." One last thing, did the breeder say it would cost 750 to register the dog with the AKC?, I've heard of lots of breeders saying this, so that pet owners won't bother to register, but truth is, it only costs about $15.00 to register a whole litter, but they have to be eligible, and they probably aren't. Many breeders do this because they didn't have breeding rights and or the dog isn't pure breed. When you buy an AKC pup, the breeder can decide whether or not it comes with breeding rights and a good breeder will not sell a pup with breeding rights to an inexperience want to be breeder. One last thing, most genetic problems don't even show up, until 4 years of age, so you have no idea, how healthy your dogs actually are. Here's two great articles in the YT library on breeding. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...-answered.html and http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...t-breeder.html
