When my dogs go out twice a day, for shorter and shorter periods of time as summer smothers us...everyone goes out 8am - 12 noon....that is with kiddie pools and water sprinklers and drinking water accessable every instant....and between 11am and 12 noon, if anyone has avoided a water feature, I snatch them up and soak them down and that last hour, they are running around sopping wet, but cool! Then we all go inside to the a/c and naps until 4pm. At 4pm, we start late afternoon yard time, again pools and sprinklers going, and when they first go out, each one is dunked in water, then turned loose to run like maniacs around the yard, cool! I make sure everyone stays wet and hydrated the entire time we are outside in this Texas heat, already 90* -100*!! I slack off on dipping into pools and water around 6pm, and then we are all ready to hit the a/c again around 8pm.....we are, in fact, bringing the last of the group into the house for the evening as we speak! We will be all settled in for the evening, with dinner served, and TV watching in order, then crated and lights out for the night at 10pm!
