Last summer I took my granddaughter to the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. While there, with my Service Dog, I noted a middle eastern man and 4 women only because they were speaking Farsi - I grew up in the Middle East. A few minutes later he walked over to me and asked me to remove myself and my dog because he found it to be offensive

Keep in mind I grew up in the Middle East, but I was taken aback to have this happen in NYC. While the docent was trying to get over to us, I think to explain the Service Dog thing to the man, I told the man in very clear Farsi, respectfully, that he was not in control there.

For a Middle Eastern man that was quite a statement from a woman in his own language yet. The docent showed up about that time and I walked on.

When I am in another country I do all i can to comply with their mores and habits and I think it is not unreasonable of us to be polite but expect the same of visitors to the USA. I believe we are going to need to get stronger about what our standards and values are if we want to keep them ! Just my opinion🇺🇸
