All surgery carry risks, but it is so very very low with a traditional neuter that it is not something I would worry a whole lot about.
Nevertheless we do and it is so human to do so. Just be alert afterwards to all post op instructions and be observant of your pup as he heals up. Which I am so sure you will be.
