Yorkies have hair instead of fur. I have never really thought about how it felt before lol. There are two different kind of coats a yorkie can have cotton coat and silky coat. My moms rescue has more of a dry cottony coat but it is very thin. My yorkie has a very thick silky coat. Cotton coats tend to tangle and matt more easily where a silky coat doesn't.
