Max once had a crack in one of his pads and the scar is still slightly visible. I used "Bag Balm" to help him heal. WalMart sometimes carries it in their pet section. Vermont's Original Bag Balm Ointment | Walgreens

I didn't use it long-term or on his entire pad to avoid softening too much. I was also worried about him licking it.

I wonder if "Musher's Secret" would help?

Talk to Karen at AllDogBoots about shoes/sandals. She is a YT member.

The challenge is to help his paw pads heal, but also allow them to toughen up to withstand walking outdoors.

Great advice. I'd also give Gold Bond Foot Cream a try too. So hope you can figure this out for your poor little guy.
