I am sorry but in a case as delicate such as this with a friend, I am NOT above telling a small lie....

"Girl, I was watching Fluffy eat last night and I think she was having a barely noticeable problem chewing....I think I noticed it because my own little Maggie did the same thing last year, right before we had her teeth cleaned....maybe Fluffy's teeth are beginning to bother her some, perhaps a loose tooth or maybe an infection in her gums....I noticed she has some tarter buildup on her teeth ....maybe your vet can look at her teeth and tell you if there is a problem brewing......".
