I have been pet sitting a little 4 year old Yorkie for my friend. My friend is the 3rd. or 4th. owner of this little girl (I can't remember). My friend feeds her an OK food and gets her groomed regularly but her teeth are horrible. I doubt she has ever had a dental. I have hinted to my friend that Yorkies need dental checkups and if tartar is forming they need to have a dental.

I don't know if it's my imagination but this little girl has a dull look in her eyes. She doesn't act or seem sick but now that I know her teeth are so bad I can't help but think her teeth hurt her. I don't want to come off as a "know it all" with my friend and tell her again about the dental. Any ideas what I can say to gently sway her to at least have a vet look at her teeth?
