My pom has this thing it's like a reverse sneeze. She will be breathing in and not out and makes this snorting type noise. It can last for a few minutes and then she is fine. It tends to happen when she gets real excited like when it's time to eat or at bedtime.
She gets this about 3-4 times a month and has since I've had her which is 9 years. One thing I do is to hold my hand over her mouth and nose and it forces her to breathe out again. i'm not suggesting you do that just letting you know what I do.
I have had other Yorkies with collapsed trachea problems and that sounds more like a cough from the throat not from the nose like the reverse sneeze. My one yorlie lived a normal life with a collapsed trachea, he would have these spells when he got excited.
Hopefully Moose will be just fine.
