If possible, read the ingreds on the bottles and avoid things like alcohol if you can, bc it may sting. Otherwise, I'd probably just use a mild soap or shampoo to wash out the ears, then dry them gently w/ a blow dryer. If it's bacterial or fungal, you'll likely need a prescription from the vet, so I'm glad you have an appt. If you think your dog is having actual ear pain though -- I'd then get in ASAP as ear infections can actually be just excruciating!!! Not even kidding.
